YOUR NEXT CHAPTER, CONSIDERED

An account is a tax wrapper, not an investment.

Keep TFSA, RRSP and non-registered account rules separate from the assets held inside.

Separate the wrapper from what is inside

A TFSA, RRSP or non-registered account is not itself a guaranteed-return product. The underlying assets determine market risk and return. This site’s flagship projection shows balances before personal tax and does not verify eligibility or contribution room.

TFSA and RRSP are not interchangeable

A TFSA uses after-tax contributions and qualifying withdrawals are generally tax free. An RRSP deduction may reduce current taxable income, while withdrawals are generally taxable. The same gross balance is therefore not necessarily the same spendable amount. Verify current rules and your own available room with the CRA.

Non-registered investments need a fuller tax model

Interest, dividends, capital gains, losses, foreign income and timing can receive different treatment. The flagship does not apply one invented tax rate to all growth. Use your actual tax facts and a qualified professional when comparing after-tax outcomes.
